Travails and Triumphs of Great Destinies (5)

i.             If Your Destiny is Great, You Will Stand Out of the Crowd
Dear reader, welcome to part 5 of this article. Great destinies are uncommon, what may be common are little destinies. This is not to say that great destinies are meant only for few persons. There are little destinies because we choose to be little. We are all destined to be great.
Great destiny is the portion of everyone, but sadly, we choose to settle for lesser destiny than God has planned for us. There is nothing wrong in starting small. What is wrong is remaining where you are.
Regardless of the situation you are in, the fact is: God has the best in mind for you. You only have to make up your mind to pursue your God-ordained destiny. I have come to understand that one reason we become less than God has destined us to be is that we are not willing to undergo the necessary travail that will usher us into our great destiny.
We fail to realize that BEYOND EVERY TRAVAIL LIES TRIUMPH. THE DAY WE START SEEING TRAVAILS AS PATH TO VICTORY, IS THE DAY WE START WALKING INTO VICTORY.
Where there are travails, there are triumphs also. We should remind ourselves that where there are travails, there lies the path to triumph. The existence of travails signifies that you are on the path to triumph.
If your destiny is great, you would encounter heartbreaking travails. Sometimes, you may despair of life. You may be tempted to stop pursuing your God-ordained destiny because of the travails you are undergoing and choose to be less than God wants you to be. You may even be thinking of jumping into a venture that has little or no travails confronting you.
Dear reader, don’t settle for less. Don’t choose the path of least resistance. Every path to great destiny is a path that is fraught with travails. To reach your God-ordained destiny, you must stand out of the crowd. We all want easy life. We don’t want to undergo travails before we celebrate our triumph. And SINCE WE CANNOT TRIUMPH OVER NOTHING, WE CANNOT STAND OUT.
ONLY THOSE THAT ARE READY TO UNDERGO TRAVAILS AND TRIUMPH WILL EVENTUALLY STAND OUT AND REACH THEIR GOD-ORDAINED DESTINY.
To be the best that God wants you to be, you must single yourself out of the multitude. Don’t try to copy or do what the multitudes are doing. For instance, don’t look for an easy way out. The Bible says: “Woe unto them that are at ease in Zion” (Amos 6:1).
Living an easy life is not the best option. The best option is to confront obstacles and difficulties that are standing on your way to your great destiny.
To stand out of the crowd, you must be different. You must be unique. You must look for that spark of originality in you that makes you different. Your emphasis and your focus should be on originality. Don’t copy anybody and don’t be a carbon copy of another person.
If you copy others, the best you can be is second best. But if you be yourself, you become the best that God wants you to be.
One characteristic of outstanding people is that they always stand out. And the reason they always stand out is that they are always busy pursuing their great destiny.
Whenever you see a person that is always busy and committed to achieving his set goal, you will find his/her enemies and detractors trailing far behind him/her. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO HOLD DOWN A PERSON THAT IS HARDWORKING AND DETERMINED TO TRIUMPH AGAINST ALL ODDS.
If you are focusing on your God-ordained destiny, you will not complain of being frustrated by any person. NO ONE CAN FRUSTRATE A PERSON WHO IS BUSY EVERYDAY PURSUING HIS/HER DESTINY.
If your destiny is great, you would stand out. To stand out, you should not be idle and don’t be lazy. Lazy people cannot stand out in life. This is because they cannot or are not doing anything outstanding.
The reason there is poverty in the land is because people don’t want to work. If people are willing to work, there would be plenty. The Bible says: “He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread; but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.” (Proverbs 28:19).
Because people are looking for easy way out and are not willing to work, poverty continues to ravage the people. If you go to most villages in Nigeria, you would understand why there is so much poverty in Nigeria.
In a typical Nigerian village, the first thing you would take notice of is that you can’t find many young people. You would wonder where they have gone to. They have gone to the cities, leaving the aged in the village.
Many of these young persons are jobless and idle in the cities. Others who find jobs to do in the cities are lazy and unserious; while others live extravagant lifestyle. They spend everything they earn without thinking of tomorrow. For others, their earning is so meager that it cannot sustain them.
But despite their unproductive lifestyle, they prefer to remain in the cities because it is the easy way out for them. Dear reader, the easy way out may not be the best option because life itself is not easy.
IT YOU WANT TO STAND OUT AND BE GREAT, YOU MUST BE READY TO UNDERGO TRAVAILS AND TRIUMPH AGAINST ALL ODDS.
The few young able-bodied men and women who choose to remain in the village and are serious about their farm activities are not doing badly. Many are making it big in farming.
The reason most youths are abandoning farming is that they feel the job is tedious and demanding. Dear reader, you have to be tough because this life is tough. Nothing good comes easy. You cannot make an omelet without breaking the egg.
IF YOU DESIRE A GREAT DESTINY, YOU HAVE TO BE SERIOUS ABOUT LIFE. MOVE OUT OF THE CROWD. YOU SHOULD STAND OUT IN EVERYTHING YOU ARE DOING. LET THE QUALITY OF YOUR WORK DISTINGUISH YOU.
The movers and shakers of this world are men and women of great destinies. They have one thing in common – they always stand out in everything they do. You can be one of them today.
Until I come your way soon, go and pursue your God-ordained destiny by always standing out in everything you do!
PS: part six of this article will come your way soon. Watch out for it and make sure you don’t miss it!
