Dear reader, Happy Christmas to you and a Merry New Year
in advance. The message of Christmas is anchored on God’s Plan of abundant life
for all. And Jesus Himself testified: “I AM COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE AND
THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.” (John 10:10).
The abundant life is for all and it is something that is
worth celebrating. No wonder, the Angel told the shepherds keeping watch over
their flocks by night: “FEAR NOT: for, behold, I bring you GOOD tidings of
great joy, which shall be to all people” (Luke 2:10).
We live in a world that is riddled with fear – fear of
the unknown, fear of failure, fear of defeat, etc. In fact, doctors have
reported that fear kills many more people than sicknesses. Fear can be so
devastating, but the message from heaven is this: “FEAR NOT…” We shouldn’t fear
because the Master Physician has come to heal, save and deliver. He has come
with the anointing that breaks every yoke.
He has come to set the captives free. We are no more
slaves to sin and satan because “For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” (1John:3:8).
Yuletide is a season to ponder the GOOD tidings of the
birth of Jesus Christ. Thank God for a season like Christmas season, which
affords us the opportunity of celebrating the Messiah who comes to give us life
in abundance.
Thank God for the abundant life. Thank God for the
Saviour. Thank God for His birth. Thank God for many more years of celebration.
