Today may be your
Friday, but Sunday is coming. CFVL wishes you a happy Easter! It is my hope
that as you celebrate this year’s Easter, you will imbibe its lessons and
significance.
Easter Friday marks the
day Jesus laid down his life for the salvation of humanity. Easter Sunday marks
the resurrection and victory of Jesus over death, satan, sin and sicknesses.
Looking back at the
incident at Calvary that fateful Friday, it was as though a cloud of doom hung
on Jesus’ head. When Jesus groaned, “It is finished,” and gave up the ghost, it
was as though there was no hope of resurrection. His disciples and
acquaintances gave up hope of Jesus ever resurrecting.
However, three days
after his crucifixion, Jesus resurrected and showed himself to His disciples
and acquaintances. He even told them to meet with him in Galilea, a day after His
resurrection.
Like Jesus, there will
come a Friday in your life when it appears all hope is gone. You look for a
job, but you can’t find any. You are faced with challenges, but despite all
your effort, it appears you are not making any headway. You tried the best you
can to move out of poverty, but you are still enmeshed in it.
When you find yourself
in a situation like these, you need to remember that this is your Friday and
that Sunday is coming.
In the calendar of man,
every week includes a Friday and a Sunday. And when Friday comes and goes, Sunday
will equally come and go. If today is your Friday, rest assured that no matter
how gloomy it may be, it will give way for Sunday to come.
When you see Friday as
a period of trial and Sunday as a period of victory, you will realise that
trial comes before victory. If you are facing trial today, remember that it is
your Friday. Friday will not continue forever. It will come and go, paving way
for Sunday to come.
Do you want to be
victorious in life? Then, you need to remind yourself constantly that no matter
how gloomy Friday may be, Sunday is coming. No matter how difficult the
challenge, you don’t have to throw your hands off in despair and give up. Never
give up because Sunday is coming. There is hope even when you think all hope is
gone.
It is worth reiterating
that Jesus accomplished all round victory for us and all we need do to
guarantee our victory is to key into this victory. And the way to key into it
is to exercise faith in God. In Mark 11: 22-24, Jesus said: “And Jesus
answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That
whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into
the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things
which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore
I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye
receive them, and ye shall have them.”
The assurance of Sunday’s
coming is anchored on your faith. Start exercising faith today and the gloom of
Friday will give way to the joy and victory of Sunday.
Happy Easter once
again.
