Celebrate Your Failure!

The story of the Alamo is the story of celebration of failure and not of success. The Alamo is a chapel that was established by Spanish missionaries in Texas, USA many years ago.

The Alamo became significant because of the battle that was fought there. Historians have described the battle as “one of the most famous battles.”

The battle was initiated in 1835 by Texas residents in order to gain their independence from Mexico. As the battle got tougher and tougher, a group of Texans rebels retreated to the Alamo on February 1836.

The Mexican forces surrounded the chapel and attacked the Texan rebels for 12 days until March 6, 1836 when all the Texan rebels were killed. The Alamo fell. The Texans were defeated. But what is however remarkable is that the Texans did not bury their head in shame forever! Rather, they turned their defeat at the Alamo into world tourist destination that generates millions of dollars for them every year.

Lesson in Defeat

Dear friend, the lesson from the Alamo is not a lesson of celebration of success, but a lesson of celebration in defeat. The Texans are not celebrating because they won the battle; they are celebrating because of their effort in the battle to regain their independence from Mexico.

They had been under the domination of the Mexicans for years. What they cherish most was their freedom and nothing more. It is either they fought to regain their freedom or they fought and lost their lives while trying to do so. They actually fought and lost their lives, but posterity continues to cherish their fight for freedom.

Celebrating Your Failure

If you have once tried and failed in any area of your life, you will agree with me that the taste of that failure is bitter.  This is one reason many people will never get up to have a shot at success. They are afraid they will not hit the target. That fear grips them so much that they hardly take advantage of the ample opportunities that God has placed before them.

Some after attempting only once or several times and didn’t succeed would vow never to try again. They don’t want to continue tasting the bitter taste of defeat.

It is an indisputable fact that no one wants to fail, lose or be defeated. No serious-minded person will embark on a worthwhile project hoping to fail. Be that as it may, failure may steer us in the face more often than not. But when you have fought gallantly and tried the best you can and you still don’t win, don’t bury your head in shame.

The feeling that you have tried the best you can should ginger you to celebrate your failure. Failure is worth celebrating when you know that you have tried the best you can. If your conscience is clear that you have tried the best you can and you still fail, then, you have nothing to worry about.

When you have failed, accept the fact that you have failed. Stop giving excuse for your failure. It is a sign of frustration, hopelessness and despair to give excuse for your failure, or to blame people for your failure.

Secret of Power

The secret of developing power for victorious living is to accept responsibility for anything that happens in your life. Life is all about taking responsibility. Even if your mind or someone tells you that one person or some persons are responsible for your failure, this should not be a ground for you to quit.

Accept the fact that you have failed. Celebrate the fact that you have tried the best you can. Celebrate the fact that you even summon up the courage to get up and try. There are hundreds of thousands of persons who are not man enough to get up and try. These persons are tied down by fear – fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of people’s reaction to possible failure.

If you have tried and failed, you are better off than those that have never tried at all. For conquering that fear that is holding people back from trying their best, it is enough for you to celebrate. And once you have conquered this fear that is holding many people down, you stand a better chance to succeed than those that are frozen with fear.

You have every reason to celebrate your failure because you are at the threshold of your success. This is why you must stop blaming people for your failure. If you keep blaming people for your failure, you are indirectly saying that they are the controller of your destiny and that as long as they are after you, you will never succeed in life.

The more you continue to hold unto the belief that some people are the cause of your failure, the weaker and weaker you become. The true position is that no human being is in control of your destiny. It is only the creator who created you that has the final say about your destiny.

You also have a part to play in the fulfillment of your destiny. For instance, God has a perfect master plan for every person, but if you don’t connect with God and key into His perfect master plan, people that I call “destiny stoppers” will stop you from enjoying God’s master plan for your life.

These destiny stoppers will try all they can to truncate your destiny, but if you surrender to them by concluding that there is nothing you can do to overcome them, they will eventually take control of your destiny.

But if you constantly connect with God your maker and invoke Him to fight your destiny stoppers, God will defeat them and they will never be able to destroy your destiny.

The secret of developing power for victorious living is to accept responsibility for your failure. Whether it is your enemies or witches and wizards that are responsible for your failure, it is immaterial. If you have failed, you have failed. It doesn’t matter who is responsible for your failure.

And you don’t even need to conclude that because they are responsible for your failure, they are in control of your destiny. If you are holding people responsible for your failure, you are giving them power - power that they don’t have in the first place.

Never give your enemies room to rejoice over you. No matter what they are doing to destroy your destiny, never surrender to them.

Surrender to God because all power belongs to God

God can turn every defect to victory. He can turn every failure to success. But for God to do this, you must make your ways right before him and connect with him constantly in prayer.

WHEN YOU SURRENDER TO GOD YOUR ENEMIES WILL SURRENDER TO YOU. THEY HAE NO CHOICE. IT IS NOT YOU THAT WILL FORCE THEM INTO SUBMISSION; IT IS GOD.

If you don’t take yourself away from Gods protection, preservation, mercy and favour, victory awaits you at the end of the day.

P.S.: To be continued. Please watch out for the concluding part which will come your way coming week - May 19, 2014.
