He is Risen!

“And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” (Matthew 28:5-6)

One of the greatest shocks unleashed on Jesus’ enemies was Jesus’ resurrection. After His burial, Jesus’ enemies were still not satisfied. They moved the government to station soldiers at his tomb so that His disciples would not come and carry his corpse and spread lies that He was risen. 

More so, they had had Jesus asserted that after His death, He would resurrect on the third day. In order to prevent any eventuality, they came up with the plan to forestall it. But did they succeed? No, they failed woefully.

 “And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” (Matt. 28:2-6)

What does Jesus’ resurrection mean to us? Jesus’ resurrection marked the completion of the redemption work at Calvary. Jesus’ resurrection represents victory for us. Jesus conquered death, satan, sin, sickness and restores us back to God. All we need do to enjoy this victory is to believe in the redemption work at Calvary and surrender to the Lordship Jesus.

Just as the kingdom of darkness could not stop Jesus from resurrecting, no Jupiter can truncate God’s plan for your life. It is not that they will not try; they will continue to try to keep you down in the grave of defeat, but like the soldiers at Jesus’ tomb who were there to prevent His resurrection, the more they try the more God will frustrate them.

By virtue of the redemption work at Calvary, your victory is guaranteed. No matter how difficult the situation may be, your faith in God and in Jesus will earn you victory over satan, sin, sickness and all forms of afflictions.

This is the message of Easter and this is what makes today, the 27^th of March 2016 a Super Sunday!
