Promise of Open Door! Why You are Unstoppable

Dear reader, happy New Year! We thank God for keeping us alive to see this glorious New Year. It is my prayer that this year will be a year for discovery of ample opportunities for us all.

It is a thing of joy to know that there is a promise of “open door” for anyone who will believe in the fulfillment of this promise. In the Book of Revelation 3:8, God said: “BEHOLD, I HAVE SET BEFORE THEE AN OPEN DOOR, AND NO MAN CAN SHUT.”

The foundation for your victory lies in knowing the attributes of God and His plan for you. “GOD IS LOVE.” And His love governs all his actions and dealings with mankind.

When you see negative things happening, don’t attribute it to God. And the fact that God does not stop the negative things from happening doesn’t mean He cannot stop them.

Satan, that enemy of man, and his agents, are the ones responsible for all the negative things that are happening in the world. Although God may not intervene the way we want Him to intervene, we have the assurance that His wisdom is higher than ours. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts.

Despite the onslaught of satan and his cohorts, God is saying, “I HAVE SET BEFORE THEE AN OPEN DOOR AND NO MAN CAN SHUT.” What this implies is that the devil and his cohorts cannot stop the plan of God for your life.

Dear reader, has the enemies been dogging your footsteps all these years? Have they been fighting against God’s plan for your life? Are you thinking of throwing in the towel? Then, listen: the fear of man is a snare. The fear of satan and his cohorts is equally a snare.

I think one reason we are afraid of satan and our enemies is that we are not afraid of God. If we fear God and obey His commandments, the same satan and the enemies we are afraid of will be the ones that will be afraid of us.

THE SECRET OF ENJOYING GOD’S BLESSING IS IN FEARING GOD AND DOING HIS WILL. It is because our ways are not right with God that the enemies are taking advantage of us most times. WHEN WE MAKE OUR WAYS RIGHT WITH GOD AND WALK UPRIGHTLY, THERE IS NO ENEMY THAT CAN SHUT THE DOOR THAT GOD HAS OPENED FOR US.

If you have been struggling to make it in life and you have not yet made it, I have a word for you today: THERE IS AN OPEN DOOR FOR YOU AND IT IS A DOOR THAT NO MAN CAN SHUT. IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE STRUGGLE. THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT YOU WILL ENTER THE PLACE OF YOUR PROSPERITY REGARDLESS OF THE OPPOSITION ON YOUR WAY.

Don’t ever wish that God will remove your adversaries so that your way will be smooth. The adversaries have to be there and you will have to confront and overcome them. This is a fact you must grab hold of, if you want to enjoy God’s blessings for your life.

There are people who think or believe that when God promises them prosperity, their journey to prosperity will be smooth. But this is not always true. God never promises that. What God promises is that He will never allow any person to shut the door that He has opened for you.

This is the reason you must not worry about your adversaries. IT IS GOD THAT WILL HANDLE YOUR ENEMIES. DON’T TRY TO HANDLE YOUR ENEMIES BY YOUR POWER. Remember: the arms of flesh will always fail. It is only God that never fails. There is NOTHING that can withstand the Creator and nothing puzzles Him.

And when God promises an open door, there is no Jupiter that can shut the door. When a door is shut against you, it could be that the door is not the one God has opened for you, or it could be that you inadvertently allow your enemies to shut the door against you. This is why you must pray like this: EVERLASTING FATHER, HELP ME TO FIND THE DOOR YOU HAVE OPENED FOR ME AND GRANT ME THE GRACE TO HANDLE THE ENEMIES THAT WANT TO SHUT THE DOOR AGAINST ME.

DEALING WITH YOUR ADVERSARIES

In 2 Cor. 16:9, Saint Paul said, “For a great door and effectual is opened for me, and there are many adversaries.” It has always been like that from time immemorial and it is not likely going to change. Anytime God opens a great door for you, there will always be adversaries.

In fact, the greater the size of the door that God opens for you, the bigger will be the size of your adversaries. No wonder, someone said: “If you find a path with no obstacle, the path leads nowhere,”

The adversaries are not there for nothing. They are there to stop you from enjoying God’s blessings for you. They are there to bar you from entering your Promised Land. But GOD’S PROMISE FOR YOU IS THAT NO MAN CAN SHUT THE DOOR HE HAS OPENED FOR YOU. It is however your responsibility to hold unto God’s promise believing that He will grant you victory over those adversaries that are struggling to shut the door against you.

LESSONS FROM THE FALL OF JERICHO

For a long time, God has promised the Israelites the land of Canaan. The land of Canaan was not an uninhabited land. The land was occupied by mighty men of valour among whom were the giants (the sons of Anakim). Now, for Israel to possess the Promised Land, they had to confront the inhabitants and overcome them.

Now, to overpower people who are in possession of a thing is a very difficult task, even if the people are weak. It even becomes much more difficult when those in possession of the thing are strong men and giants. This was the situation they Israelites faced on their way to the Promised Land. They were aware of the giants on the Promised Land. To possess the land, they must overcome those giants.

Ordinarily, they knew they could not withstand the inhabitants with their power. Some of the negative ones among the Israelites even confessed that they were like grasshoppers in the eyes of the inhabitants of Jericho.

They were faced with no other choice than to believe God for their victory over the inhabitants. God had already promised them the land and had also assured them that He would lead them to possess the land. ALL THEY WERE REQUIRED TO DO WAS TRUST GOD AND MARCH ON TO POSSESS THE LAND.

IT DID NOT MATTER HOW FORMIDABLE THE INHABITANTS WERE. ALL GOD DEMANDED FROM THEM WAS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT FEAR THE INHABITANTS OR BE DISCOURAGED BY THEIR SIZE, STRENGTH OR MIGHT. THEY WERE REQUIRED TO PUT THEIR FAITH IN GOD AND MARCH ON TO OVERPOWER THE INHABITANTS!

Jericho is one of the cities that Israel listed for demolition and occupation. Shortly before the invasion of Jericho by the Israelites, the so-called giants inhabiting the city shut the gates of the city to prevent the Israelites from invading the city. The city was fenced round with a thick and formidable wall. There was no way they could enter the city except through the gates. And the gates were shut against the Israelites.

As it were, the larger population of the Israelites lost hope in God. They thought they could possess the Promised Land without a little effort to overcome the inhabitants. There are many people like that in the society today. They desire success, but they don’t want to pay the price.

Until the Israelites were ready to confront the inhabitants of the Promised Land, the Promised Land remained a mirage. It was when they made up their mind to invade Jericho that God gave them the instruction they must follow to overpower their enemies.

They were to march round the city of Jericho once a day for six days. And on the seventh day, they were to march round the city seven times and finally shout the shout of victory. They did that and, not only did the gates of Jericho that were shut against them fall, the wall and the inhabitants also fell!

THE LESSON FROM THE FALL OF JERICHO IS THAT WHEN GOD PROMISES YOU A THING, AND YOU BELIEVE GOD TO FULFIL THE PROMISE, NO MAN OR POWERS OF DARKNESS CAN SHUT THE DOOR AGAINST YOU.

The mighty gates of Jericho were shut against the Israelites. The wall of Jericho was equally thick and formidable. Worse still, the inhabitants of Jericho were giants and mighty men of valour. Yet, both the giants, the gates and the wall of Jericho fell down flat before Israel.

VICTORY BY FAITH

Dear reader, there is a door of success, prosperity and victory that is opened specifically for you by God. This door cannot be shut against you! That is the promise of God! You have to believe that God’s promise is yea and amen and that NOTHING CAN SHUT THE DOOR GOD HAS OPENED FOR YOU.

Do you know that during Israel’s forty years in the wilderness, the Israelites were divided into two factions? Do you also realize that two different fates befell them? The larger faction in Israeli camp were unbelievers while the minute faction were believers.

The unbelieving faction never believed God would lead them to possess the Promised Land. They kept grumbling and grumbling and grumbling against God and Moses until they perished in the wilderness. Only their children lived to possess the Promised Land.

The believing faction in Israeli camp believed that God would lead them to possess the land and they were ready to attack the enemy and possess the land. Just as they believed, God led them to possess the Promised Land. They attacked and overcame the inhabitants.

Dear reader, if you take the path of unbelief, you won’t get a positive result. But if you take the path of belief, things will turn out well according to your faith. No wonder, Henry Ford said: “If you say you can’t, you are right; and if you say you can, you are right.” The choice is yours.

TAKING THE PATH OF FAITH                                                

Dear reader, if you have been visiting this blog and reading the articles herein, and you are yet to triumph in the battles of life, don’t lose hope at all. You have not gone off the path of faith. You are very much on the path of faith. Don’t allow the present unpleasant situation to weaken your faith in God.

Things may even get worse than you expect, but that is how it should be. THINGS MAY GET WORSE BEFORE THEY GET BETTER. If you have been praying for a breakthrough and you are yet to obtain an answer to your prayer, don’t quit praying.

Remember: the wall of Jericho, the gates, as well as the inhabitants didn’t fall when the Israelites marched round it once. They marched round it thirteen times altogether before they crashed and collapsed. THE PATH OF FAITH IS NOT A BREAD AND BUTTER AFFAIR. IF YOU ARE ALWAYS EXPECTING GOD TO DO THINGS FOR YOU AT YOUR OWN TIME, YOU MAY BE DISAPPOINTED.

GOD DOESN’T WORK BY YOUR TIME; HE WORKS BY HIS OWN TIME. AND UNTIL YOU GIVE UP YOUR TIME AND LEARN TO WAIT PATIENTLY FOR GOD’S TIME, YOU ARE NOT LIKELY GOING TO ENJOY SUCCESS, PROSPERITY AND VICTORY THAT COME FROM GOD.

Keep on praying. Intensify your prayers. Keep on adding more weight to the weight of your prayers. It is the weight of your prayers that will eventually crush every opposition on your way to success.

AS YOU KEEP PRAYING, KEEP CONFESSING AND HOLDING UNTO GOD’S PROMISE UNTIL YOU OBTAIN YOUR BREAKTHROUGH. REMIND YOURSELF CONSTANTLY THAT THERE IS A DOOR THAT GOD HAS OPENED FOR YOU WHICH NO MAN CAN SHUT!

Only you can shut the door against yourself. And the way to shut this door against yourself is to wallow in unbelief and in impatience. Do you believe that God can lift you up? And are you willing to take God by His Word and wait patiently for Him to fulfill His promise? If you are, then, I assure you: NO MAN CAN SHUT THE DOOR THAT GOD HAS OPENED FOR YOU.

Until I come your way soon, start marching on to the threshold of your destiny. Every opposition on the door of your destiny will crash like a pack of cards and you will possess your possession this New Year!
